Pinwheel Sampler Quilt - Week 1

We had success. After reading the instructions over twice we were able to figure out how to get 4- 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 squares from a 10 x 10 piece of fabric...you need two 10 x 10 squares of the same fabric. (This was not explained in the beginning). Luckily I had a newer Moda Layer cake that has 2 squares of each fabric.

For this project I chose the Moda Layer cake Swanky by Chez Moi and for the back ground I picked a Moda Marble that is white with a creamy green/yellow marble to soften the white.

So here are the final blocks for week one. After only 2 hours of work I like how they turned out. The pink dotted block was used from fabric I did not like very much but cut up and put together I now like it.

Project - Pinwheel Quilt Along

I am very excited for tonight when I get to start working my Pinwheel Sampler quilt that my friend Sondra encouraged me to do. I am not sure what is more exciting, starting a new project or working on a project together (we are creating separate quilts of course). We came across the 12 week quilt along on one our our favorite blogs, P.S. I Quilt. We have our fabric and will work on the first week assignments, blocks 1 & 2. I will post photos of my fabrics along with the finish blocks in a few days.
